shortcut key cmd+c not working

When I use command + c on a transaction line to "confirm" the transaction as downloaded, the category is changed to a different category.
eg: confirming transaction is allocated to "fuel" but after using cmd+c it gets changed to "rent". This seems to be an arbitrary selection as it is not the category before or after the transaction in question.

    Error - should be cmd+enter for confirmation

    I'm glad to hear it sounds like you figured it out. Many of the keyboard shortcuts can be found at: https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/general/keyboard-shortcuts-in...

    The problem still exists. My error was stating the wrong short cut key.
    I have found out why this happens when I read what the actual short cut key is designed to do:
    1. it will confirm the information exactly as it has been downloaded.
    HOWEVER
    2. if changes are made to the memo section under description &/or the category is changed and then using the short cut key at this point it will over write the changes back to what was downloaded. Frustrating.
    Having said above, the short cut key works for exactly what it says it does, but in my work flow process, it is a hinderance & I must mouse over to confirm.

    thanks

    Hi Molly,
    We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

    Could you navigate to File-> Preferences-> Network?
    If you have the Only match downloaded transactions when they are at most X days apart checked, could you try changing the setting to 7 days?

    Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

    Changed the preferences as indicated.
    Downloaded CC transactions today and the over write is still happening.
    I hope my explanation of what is happening is understood ?
    I do not use the keyboard shortcut if I am changing the category.

    pre { width: 92%; margin: 10px 2%; padding: 5px 2%; background-color: rgb(239, 239, 239); border: 1px solid rgb(214, 214, 214); } blockquote { margin-left: 0px; padding-left: 1em; border-left-width: 5px; border-left-style: solid; border-left-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); }

    // Please reply above this line

    Hello,

    I'm not quite sure what Maddy was trying to achieve with that suggestion, so maybe she'll elaborate. In any case, I think we've established that the shortcut key is working as designed and described. It sounds like you want a shortcut key that would confirm a transaction with whatever modifications that you've made? Let me know if I'm not understanding your suggestion. In any case, I'll pass on that request to our developers for them to consider in a future release.

    Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

    @Molly

    If you try to change the memo or category BEFORE you confirm a transaction, then it gets overwritten once you confirm a transaction.
    If you are not merging a transaction, you should hit confirm or CMD-enter and then edit memo or the transaction.
