Upgrade problems
We have two computers (1) XP and (1) Windows 7 64 bit that we
run Moneydance on and sync with DropBox.
XP upgrade went fine. updated files and sync with Dropbox
Windows 7 did not go well. We ended up with both versions of
Moneydance.
After removing both versions and reloading the 12.5 version of
Moneydance, we can not open the file.
Is it possible that our file is corrupt now after having both versions of Moneydance running? If so, then Dropbox already has the bad data. The two computers are 500 miles apart or I would to the XP machine and try that.
Looking for your advise
Thanks
Ken Smith

Hi Ken,
It is very unlikely that the file is corrupt, this should be easy enough to straighten out.
What is the name of the file you are trying to open?
What is the error message or other obstacle you are encountering when you try and open in.
Let me know and we can proceed from there.
Sincerely,
Jon Hoover, Moneydance Support

Hi Jon,
The file name is "2010 Data.md-2013-03-04-2013-03-07"
I think it started as "2010 Data.md-2013-03-04" both have the same revised date
We do not get an error message, we highlight the file, double click and nothing happens.
Thanks
Ken

Hi Ken,
Do you have a folder ending in .moneydance on your Dropbox folder, possibly named 2010 Data.moneydance? If so, can you try clicking the Open Other button on the bottom left of the Welcome screen in Moneydance or File -> Open -> Open Other, then navigating to the 2010 Data.moneydance folder (or whatever the name actually is) in your Dropbox folder and opening the root.mdinternal file within it with the Windows 7 version of Moneydance? Also, can you make sure that you're using the latest version of Moneydance on Windows 7 by going to Help -> Console window?
