MD is very slow to start up on macOS Ventura 13.0.1

I recently downloaded and paid for MD 2022.5 - It is very SLOW to start up and open my file, a full minute or more.
I used Toolbox to shrink the data, but that doesn't help.
Sync is off.

I have 5 years worth of data - 2 checking, 1 savings, 2 credit cards, 5 IRA investment accounts.
I have searched discussions, but nothing helps.

   No obvious problems in console.

   Your main element in your dataset is your price history which is 26MB alone. You could consider purge/thin price history in toolbox. Depends if you want it all?

   I have about a 350 MB file of data from 1998 onwards. It opens in about 8 seconds on an Intel iMac (SSD drive) running Monterey. I don't know if you have found something odd in the M1 macs with Rosetta2 or if it is something in Ventura. But this shouldn't be an issue with the size of the file.

   I test under Monterey on a Mac Book Air and had about the same quick time to open.

   Stuart would know more, but sometimes the console log has time stamps of how much time is spent in a variety of routines.

   I used shrink, but it did not seem to improve anything. Now after working with MD for a couple of weeks, start is painfully slow, taking several minutes to open.

   I did Shrink and it did not help the startup slowness. Ran some of the Security fixes and other cleanup tool in the Toolbox and several problems were fixed.

   I ran Shrink with it set to zero, and brought the MD file size way down to about 30 MB.

   Now, MD opens up in about 10 seconds.

    Oh, and I updated to MD 2022.6, too.
    Only complaint I have, now, is with the download of investment transactions doesn’t work as nicely as for bank accounts.
