By any chance have you recently changed the splits on a security?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/576490822023-01-22T13:27:53Z2023-01-22T13:27:59ZHistory Button freezing

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for the reply. This is the weird thing I get no error message. It just freezes and I then have to shut down the computer. Other functions work when I restart it it.

Also I have not split any securities.

You need to grab this and upload it

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/576490822023-01-22T16:49:41Z2023-01-22T16:49:41ZHistory Button freezing

Hi Neil,

The History window is likely rendering off-screen. Once opened, the History window takes focus and requires user interaction so as to return focus back to the main Moneydance window. Without the ability to interact with the History window, Moneydance will appear to have frozen.

This phenomenon usually occurs when a second monitor has been attached to the machine and subsequently removed.

To resolve the issue...
If applicable, re-attach the second monitor to hopefully retrieve the orphaned window.
Or...
Call up the History window (Moneydance will appear to have frozen)
Use key-combo ALT-SPACEBAR (a small context menu may or may not appear at the edge of the screen).
Tap the letter 'm' on your keyboard, to invoke the 'Move' command.
HOLD DOWN the appropriate ARROW key, likely the LEFT ARROW key, to hopefully move the orphaned window back on-screen.

If it detects invalid window positions then use the reset option.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/576490822023-01-28T21:19:06Z2023-01-28T21:19:06ZHistory Button freezing

Thank you Kevin that makes sense and I will try it.
