I did that but and I see a dropdown list (see attachment) but I don't see any ref to vmoptions. As I said earlier I did a full system search and no vmoptions file was found anywhere.

So on the toolbox mail screen, somewhere near the bottom you will find a property called ‘install4j.exeDir’. In this folder create the file
Moneydance.vmoptions
(Note the case)

Restart MD. Try toolbox again, does open md folder now see the vmoptions?

If so, then settings you apply in there should work?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/576502422023-01-22T22:15:59Z2023-01-22T22:15:59ZManjaro UI too small - Manjaro Linux Cinnamon - high DPI

I'm afraid I don't understand where I should be looking. Sorry. I did a file/folder search but found no item ‘install4j.exeDir’

brian.daviestag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/576502422023-01-22T23:14:01Z2023-01-22T23:14:01ZManjaro UI too small - Manjaro Linux Cinnamon - high DPI

I suspect someone has built a Moneydance install specifically for this O/S so it is not using the standard Moneydance install.

I believe you will have to find where the software has been installed to. If you are using a icon to start the program the properties of the Icon should show that.

the Directory should have a couple of different files named Moneydance in it, a README.md a shell script plus a few sub directories. This is the folder that should have a file named Moneydance.vmoptions

The following is an example from a Linux system:

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/576502422023-01-23T05:58:42Z2023-01-23T05:58:42ZManjaro UI too small - Manjaro Linux Cinnamon - high DPI

Thanks. Yes, it is a build in the AUR repository and I am using it in Manjaro. I have Moneydance running fine and at a comfortable scale on my other box running Linux Mint so I think it best to not bother with using it on the Manjaro box unless in an emergency. I have it adjusted perfectly in LM.

brian.daviestag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/576502422023-01-23T08:57:45Z2023-01-23T08:57:45ZManjaro UI too small - Manjaro Linux Cinnamon - high DPI

I apologise. I gave you the wrong info.. It's Toolbox/General tools/view vmoptions..

On my linux, the location is:

/opt/Moneydance/Moneydance.vmoptions

NOTE: if you renamed the app to Moneydance2022 (for example) then the file must be Moneydance2022.vmoptions (for example).

-----
Linux file location: '/opt/Moneydance/Moneydance.vmoptions'
In Linux - due to permissions, you will need to do this:
a) Either edit in Terminal using sudo before the command (e.g. sudo vi '/opt/Moneydance/Moneydance.vmoptions') , or;
b) You ideally need to be able to open files as root via a right click.
- This assumes you are on a Debian based system
1. Open the Terminal
2. Type sudo su and press enter. Provide your password and press enter
3. Then type apt-get install -y nautilus-admin and press enter
4. Now type nautilus -q and press enter
5. Finally type exit and press enter, and close the terminal window
6. All set. Now when you want to open a file as root, simply right click the FOLDER and select Open as Root (or Administrator).
So, now find the /Opt folder, right click on the Moneydance FOLDER, Open as Root. Enter your password. Now you can edit the '/opt/Moneydance/Moneydance.vmoptions' file....
>> Note: You may need to logoff and then login to see the changes!
now after saving the file, restart Moneydance
