New to MD - Chase and downloading transactions

I am kicking tires on Moneydance before deciding whether to purchase the program or not.

I am aware that as a Chase customer that I cannot use the Chase Express Web Connect feature using MD and that the only I can get my Chase banking transaction to download directly into MD is by paying the Chase fee of $9.95 per month.

I have read that some people have been able to download and then manually install the file into MD but after reading various posts I still am not sure how this is done.

Can someone please write step-by-step directions on how this is accomplished using Chase and MD? I assume that I would download the OFX file from Chase but then what? How do I proceed from there?

    Hi,
In my experience the people who will give you the clearest and most informed answer are the people doing tech support for chase. If you call or write to them and ask "How can I download OFX files from your website?" They should give you a pretty concise answer.
Once you have the file on your computer, open up Moneydance and go to File->Import->Open Financial Exchange (OFX). From there you can select your file and import it into Moneydance.
Sorry I can't be more helpful with the process on chase's end but I don't have an account with them. Hopefully some users will chime in or Chase Tech Support will be able to explain it to you.

    Thanks for the reply.

I think I am good to go now since I do already know how to download the Chase OFX file data, it was just the rest of the procedure that I was not clear about. Now I know and can go ahead and proceed with kicking tires.

Another question to add to this, is there any kind of 30 day refund type process if I find that after purchasing and using for awhile that MD is unfortunately not a good fit for my use?
