Console Window filling up
running Version 2022.6 (4097)
just upgraded yesterday .. these messages may have been there before the upgrade
on the console I'm seeing:
Ran 0 of 2 MDP tasks @ Tue Feb 07 05:01:50 CST 2023) forcedRefresh=true
Ran 0 of 2 MDP tasks @ Tue Feb 07 05:01:52 CST 2023) forcedRefresh=true
and they never stop. every 2 seconds.
makes using the console a bit of a pain
are these normal ?
how can I get them to stop ?

The way to stop them is to close the console.

To test. Close console. Leave MD running. Then manually open errlog.txt file to prove they’re not there….

Hi waynelloydsmith,
I had the same situation. If I remember correctly, It was caused by setting up Moneydance+ and subsequently deactivating it.
Stuart's Toolbox option "ZAP your Moneydance+ (Plaid) settings (only when status is NOT 'activated')" resolved the issue. Again, if I remember correctly.
So, as long as you're NOT using Moneydance+, you may want to give 'ZAP' a try.
Be sure to follow the Toolbox prompt to backup your data file before making any changes to Moneydance.

Kevin is correct is you are not using md+ and if you are not subscribed, then you can zap the md+ profile and stop the md+ poller altogether.

ok I checked the errlog.txt
yes if the console window is open the errlog.txt file grows quickly.
so these messages not only trash the console window but also the errtxt.log
I use the console window to debug Jython scripts .
It used to work fine. ( a few years ago).
I guess I could stop using the console window and look in the errlog.txt file for my
script crashes

not sure what moneydance+ is .
what ever it is I don't think I'm running it.
also what is Stuart's Toolbox

Md+ is subscription connection to and download of bank transactions. You probably activated a profile by mistake even if you are not using it. Thus toolbox can zap the profile away for you.
Toolbox is magic!
More specifically. Menu. Extensions. Manage extensions. Available. Toolbox. Install.
Then extensions. Toolbox. Then update mode. Online banking tools. Zap md+ license.

so I debugged my jython scripts using moneybot and the errlog.txt file
It worked ok. maybe even better than the console window.
so don't use the console window ever.
I still consider this to be a bug. Having an errlog.txt file secretly growing into a huge file because I have the console window open isn't very cool feature.
The moneybot window could use a "clear" and "copy to clipboard" button like the console window has .

I download normal bank transactions with the buiilt in drag and drop for non investment accounts (works great).
for my investment accounts I down load .csv files and post them into moneydance with home brew jython scripts (monthly). I also get the end of day close prices (US and Canadian) with jython scripts from www.stockwatch.com every day (a subscription service)...So debugging jython scripts is a big deal to me. I don't think md+ would be much help to me. The 2 banks I deal with are pretty careful and what I have works for me (today). The moneydance switch from jdk8 to jdk10 broke some of my jython scripts but I got them working now.

Yes. And if you use toolbox to zap the md+ license it will help further and those md+ polling messages should stop. Try it.

As for Moneybot output. Two suggestions.
1. Knock up your own console window
2. Capture your script output to a string/file and then popup display it on screen.

Ok I tried the Toolbox->Online Banking-> ZAP.
and it looks like it worked :)
No more garbage on the Console.
Ya I have two home brew Jython Consoles that I retired but maybe I'll
Dig one of them out again .
I was happy to retire them when the MoneyBot window showed up because I had one less custom jython script to maintain.
That toolbox was a great tip.
