Double clicking a transaction when confirmation panel is shown starts editing in wrong cell. (Still)

I am having the exact same problem as in this post:
https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/60993-doubl...

In addition, I have found that if I simply double-click farther to the right, just past where that field/cell dividing line would be if the confirmation panel was not displayed, then it starts with the category highlighted, as one would expect when double-clicking on the , instead of the payee.

To be clear: The problem here is that the double-click event handler is not correctly calculating which transaction cell was double clicked on. The event handler does not take into consideration that the dividing-line shifts when the Confirmation Panel is displayed. It uses the dividing-line location stored for when the Confirmation Panel is not displayed regardless of whether the Confirmation Panel is displayed or not.

Personally, I find the constant shifting of that dividing-line back and forth, depending on whether a confirmed or non-confirmed transaction is selected to be disconcerting. I would much prefer if the Confirmation Panel could simply always be displayed, regardless of whether the transaction were confirmed or not. However, I am not a fan of Kevin N's suggestion to set the Selection Details Panel to be a popup for a few reasons:

  1. That means I have multiple windows to deal with, instead of simply being able to maximize the entire window.
  2. That popup behaves erratically when I move or resize the main window.
  3. The popup still appears and disappears constantly, which I find distracting. I am sure many other users who are on the Autism spectrum would find it distracting as well.

Therefore, one solution would be to add the option to just make the Confirmation/Details Panel visible at all times (NOT as a popup), regardless of whether the transaction is confirmed or not. You could simply display the word, "Confirmed" when the transaction is confirmed.

Finally: This is not the most important problem in the world. I can simply get used to double-clicking farther to the right of the category, when I want to edit the category.

just a user - Welcome to Moneydance!

there are quite a few issues with the program that are long term. They get on a list somewhere, and the ones that enough people complain upon may get acted upon, but many "not most important problem in the world" simply don't get addressed.

When development is mostly a one person shop, (Sean), some things don't make the "do it" list - we do have a user community to back Sean up, with folks who write extensions, or improve older extensions, or write extensions which augment/improve on built in functions.

Hope that helps as you navigate the Moneydance program.

just a user - I personally have about 4-6 items that I've posted about in the last year or so. They've been acknowledged as a "bug" or at least an "issue", but usually if a workaround is mentioned by me or suggested by another, that's as far as it tends to go.
