I put in a payment for my credit card. Let’s say I put in $500. When I go to look at the payment, a deposit for the exact entry is made. I zero out the one entry manually on my iPhone where I put the payment and it zero outs the other one. I’m thinking I missed something and did it again, same thing. I don’t have a lot of time these days and it’s freaking me out that I can’t trust my numbers or the balance. Anyone help please. The 4 entries for Citibank, I made two, the system made the green ones.

All txns are double entry book keeping. Ie a + in one account creates a - in another account. In MD, categories are accounts and visa-versa. Normally if you put a +txn into an account then you will get the -txn in a category for example.
It sounds like your category for the txn is set to the same as the account for the txn. This is not supposed to happen.
Can you go into MD desktop and take screenshots (SS) of both matching txns and then also right click each, select show record details and copy those details too. Upload all here.

You post was nothing more than a repost of Stuarts response.
I would suggest you post using the web interface:

Lol. I didn’t even notice that. I am not even sure why it posted that way. I start typing for visa payment and it pulls up where I’ve posted before which credits cash and debits the visa. Not sure why it did that but I went in and fixed it to the visa account instead of the cash account. I guess it would help if I wore my glasses. I’m glad it was nothing scary like a corrupt file. Yay. Thanks.
