How do I change account types such as changing an account from bank to credit card. Then, will it auaomatically move to the new folder?
Also, is thieir a way to reorder accounts in the different account types folders?
If there are knowledge base articles to read, please point them out.

Toolbox extension. Update mode. Accounts menu. Force change account type.

just a user
As to reordering accounts within an account type, it is basically alphabetical order, so you might rename the account like 1 - Account at top 2 - Next Account
or maybe A B C order... or maybe *account name
No, it's not optimal, but it does work. And you don't have to rename everything, just the ones you want to fit in somewhere different.

You're right. It's not optimal. I tried it with a very small account. It did change the type, but did not transfer the transactions, just the opening balance. No big deal. It was just a small record.
I am still very happy with the program. It should allow me to dump Quicken down the road. I'm tired of having to sign in every time I use it. It makes me wonder about one day not being able to access my data?
I did, however, note later that a user found that if they disconnected from the internet prior to opening the program, it acted just fine and could be used like MS Money which I had to give up after they discontinued support for it.
Thanks, Mike

Using Toolbox to change the account type between bank and credit card is not expected to have any effect on the transactions in the account, so I cannot imagine what is happening there.

If you force change the account type, the txns are not affected and should still be there.
Try again
If not visible, send help/console output
Try restarting md
??

Have you tried "Batch Change > Account", select transactions in your bank account and right click to select "Batch Change > Account".

Thank you. I did come across that feature in a discussion forum that I think you referenced. It works really well.
