'JavaApplicationStub Quit Unexpectedly' on Mac IOS upgrade Mojave to Ventura.
Hi,
I have just upgraded my Mac IOS from Mojave to Ventura. Moneydance version 2011 had been working successfully for years on Mojave but now on Ventura, when I click on the Moneydance icon, I get 'Moneydance quit unexpectedly' and the report to Apple is:
"JavaApplicationStub Quit Unexpectedly.
Process: JavaApplicationStub [1115]
Path: /Applications/Moneydance.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub
Identifier: com.moneydance.Moneydance"
Any workarounds?
Have I lost all the Moneydance data from the last many years?
If I buy a Moneydance upgrade to 2023 version, will my previous Moneydance data automatically re-populate the new version from the old version?
Thanks,
Sue.

just a user - Mojave to Ventura is a big jump, and Mac OS versions are quite good at breaking old software, especially something as old as MD 2011 (12 years)
There are ways to upgrade your data so it will run in 2023 version, but I'll let someone more knowledgeable guide you through. This message is just to say "it can be done..."

Thanks dtd.
It's been solved. I upgraded/bought the latest Moneydance, installed it on Ventura and the 'old' Moneydance data automatically transferred to the new app. On reflection, dtd has got it right, I think was expecting too much of an IOS upgrade for the MD 2011 to cope with.
Very pleased, and relieved - my thanks to MD for their great product and dtd the support.

just a user - great. Having your data encrypted would be the major thing that would have been a "glitch" in the upgrade. That would have been more problematic, but obviously you didn't, so glad it went smoothly!
