Issue With MD Not Updating the Last Reconciled Date

I'm running MD 2023.2 (5007) and am having an issue with five MD accounts always using the date As of: 10/25/22. My belief is that when I reconcile the accounts each month that the default reconcile date changes to be a current date. All of the accounts other than these five behave correctly.

One thing that's different with these five accounts (2 Checking, 2 Savings, and one Credit Card) is that they're with Bank of America. Bank of America used to support Direct Connect, but they dropped support right around the time in question here. So now I am downloading the QIF file from BofA and importing them. I have deleted the connection settings for each of the accounts in Toolbox so MD would no longer try to connect.

Using <ctrl>+t does get the date to the current date, but it's still an annoyance that behaves differently then any of the other accounts.

    Making private.

Downloaded QIF files are unable to be used to update the "As of Date" as they do not contain the information that would allow Moneydance to do so.

just a user - this is still public if you want to make it private, but you can get help from users like dwg if you do not do so.

If 10/25/22 is the date of your last ofx download then you’re probably snookered. That date will be on your txns and that is where it’s where it’s coming from.

Run toolbox. Online banking tools. Diagnose as_of dates and upload the output here.

Thanks for the reply, Stuart. Here’s the output, which I sanitized for content, and just listed the affected accounts. All of the other accounts had dates that looked fine:

and edit the date (or if available Toolbox>Reset ALL OFX Last Txn Update Dates)

If 'Most Recent Downloaded Txn Date' shown then not a lot can be done. You have previously downloaded txns

    Try this..

    BACKUP FIRST

Toolbox, update mode, online banking tools,
    Delete Single cached OnlineTxnList record/txns.
    Delete the whole record.

I suspect the date will move to 6/1/23. Let me know.

I performed the modification on each of the accounts and as you predicted, the date for reconcile is now 6/1/23. I'm guessing that going forward the as of date will now be the first of the month where I perform the reconcile, or will it update based on the last reconcile? Thanks for the help.

Nope. It’s now using the date of the last downloaded txn, so you are snookered. I need to write a fix which would allow you to nuke the downloaded data flags to get around this. But I can’t tackle that right now. Sorry.

OK, I just added a feature to Toolbox called:
"Added "Remove (hidden) downloaded OFX/MD+ data from Transactions within an Account" feature".

Get the latest PREVIEW from here:
    https://yogi1967.github.io/MoneydancePythonScripts/

    BACKUP first.

It allows you to remove (or disable) the downloaded data within an account, which will have the effect that the as_of date is nullified..

It does not affect your balances, just removes or disables the hidden data....

Let me know if you try it out..?

    Again, BACKUP FIRST!

@joe - did you try this?

@Stuart Sorry, I seem to have completely missed this after I closed the issue. I updated Toolbox and ran the new script. It completely removed the downloaded data and now when I reconcile, there is no date listed. Thanks, and sorry I missed this and it took so long to get back to you.
