Uninstall then reinstall Moneydance and Moneydance Plus
I have messed up my data file (filled with duplicate records by Moneydance or Moneydance Plus).
I have an archive file dated 5/31/2023. My computer runs Linux Mint.
I want to COMPLETELY REMOVE my Moneydance Plus connections (not canceling the account) and the entire Moneydance application including any preferences and extensions I've added.
I want to reinstall Moneydance, reestablish Moneydace Plus, and use the archive file to keep as much of my old data as possible. If necessary I am willing to create a new data file.
If this is reasonable please provide detailed instructions how to proceed.

I'm a fellow user.
What do you believe that removing the Moneydance application will achieve or are you trying to achieve with this step??
We see a lot of misguided ideas about what removing and reinstalling the application will achieve and people are surprised at the very least at what does/does not happen.
Your Moneydance+ account is completely separate and you have to take specific action if you wanted to cancel that.

My data file has been severely corrupted after May 31 - over 400 duplicate
transactions were added from2022 and 2023.. InfiniteKind tech support had
me change a number of settings and and run some functions in the Toolkit
extension that further modified my data file. TechSupport also had me
modify my Moneydance Plus connections. I'm hoping that by restoring the
uncorrupted May 31 archive into an unmodified application I could better
recover from the corruption.

If you really want to nuke md+ connections, then Toolbox, update mode, online banking tools, force remove md+ connections. Do this for each connection. This will delete the connections and keep your license.
At this point, also use toolbox to export your md+ license to a file… (make several copies of this file)
Then quit MD
Then rename config.dict
Then relaunch MD. Re-register the app using your licence.
I would suggest you then file/restore backup, untick retain sync settings.
Go from here.
If you really want to start a new file, then file/new. After doing this then toolbox, import md+ license. But your old data will not be accessible.
There is zero point in a complete app reinstall.

Like Stuart has said removing and reinstalling Moneydance will not do any of what you want, and if you did that and then started the software you would find yourself back at exactly the same place. It is simply because some information is in the Data files and some is in the configuration files in this case and doing anything with the program changes neither of these thing.
Moneydance isolates things into different places depending on the type of information it is. What is in the program folders is just the program.
