I have repeatedly told Moneyline to "remember" the account designation for repeated payments. But everytime I download transactions, none of the repeated transactions have ever been categorized properly. Kindly explain, and/or fix.

What do you mean told Moneydance to Remember?

Memorized transactions become reminders and have nothing to do with downloaded transactions.

The category of assigned transactions is based on those transactions that have been through the confirmation process.

You also talk about "account designation" and "categorized" so I am not certain what you are referring to, perhaps you can explain your process in greater detail.

I download transaction from my bank using quicken format.
    I import them into moneydance.
I then assign each transaction to an expense or income account.
Many of these transactions are repeated every month, like utilities. Or credit card payments.
Does not Moneydance “remember “ the account assigned to the same transaction from the previous entry? (Quicken does, though imperfectly).
    Thanks

    Forgive typos

Moneydance cannot remember the 'account" and that would seem appropriate as you would be downloading those transactions on an account by account basis and importing them into the correct account. Bank downloads often do not say what account they are for.

Categories are suggested but they are based on Confirmed transactions that are in the Moneydance register, Moneydance uses a learning process to work out the correlation between payee and category, but it does this dynamically and does not maintain a list.

Are you confirming the transactions? Unconfirmed transactions are indicted by filled blue circle, confirmed transactions by an unfilled blue circle.

The confirmation process is described in:
