Setting a Transactions "Other Side" to a pre-existing transaction

Hello, I just started using moneydance and love it! One problem I am having though, I think would be an easy fix for the devs and really helpful.

I currently have 2 accounts connected to Moneydance, both connected online. There are several transactions where I transferred some money from one of these accounts to the other. This transaaction shows up in both accounts, one a deposit, one a payment. I would like to set the category of them to the other account, but when I do this a new transaction is created which duplicates the transfer.

The "Other Side" feature is great, but there is no way to connect one transaction as the other side of a pre-existing transaction, other than a workaround with a separate account for transactions where it connects from the source as a deposit and the create a transaction of that being sent to the target, but again this is basically duplicating it and it is not connected like it should be.

I would like to be able to set the category (i.e. Other Side of the transaction) to a specific transaction in the other account as opposed to setting it to the parent category where it gets duplicated. It works fine to create new transactions but I don't want duplicates or to alter the downloaded transactions from the online banking connection, I just want to have existing transactions be linked as each others Other Side.

Is there any way to do this that I am missing? Or could it be added in an update?
Thanks,
Brandon

In one account select the category field then scroll up to the top of the list and set the category to the other account.

Then in the other account go through the confirmation & merge process to bring the two transactions together.

There is nothing in the transaction to tell Moneydance they are two sides of the one transaction, the bank provides no linkage.

Thank you for the quick and helpful response, I did not know there was a merge function!
