LIcense Key
Hi. I have had MD for years. Got a new computer and downloaded MD. It insists my license key is wrong. Multiple people have checked what I'm entering "six ways to Sunday". It's not wrong. Do license keys expire, and how would I know? I'm sorry, I don't know when I last upgraded. What info do you need to decide if it's time to reup?
My old copy is version 2021.1 (3069) Copyright 2023
The new download is 2023.1 (5006)
Please help me fix this.

Moneydance license are version specific.
So for example a Moneydance 2022 license will work on Moneydance 2022 & 2023.
A license that works on Moneydance 2021 will definitely NOT work on Moneydance 2023.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I have purchased the upgrade and the new license works (insert grinning emoji of your choice).
In order to have the file on both computers (my spouse and myself) is it necessary to switch to the new version on both computers? That is, will the file I created on the 2023 version work on the 2021 version? I will switch it eventually but it would be very good not to need to do that this month.

You should always run the same version and build of moneydance e.g. 2023.2(5007) on all computers if you want to sync. New version or build could include software changes to syncing, Using different version or build you run the risk of corruption. You only need one licence per household.

As soon as you want to use syncing do not even think of mixing versions or builds, even when syncing and you perform an upgrade go through and upgrade all systems to the same release as part of the process.
