Upgrade

I was able to download the upgrade that I purchased yesterday and I installed it. When I clicked to open it it did not ask me for my key. Rather it showed the Welcome to Moneydance box with a variety of options such as “Import new account set”. When I clicked on this option in my attempt to transfer my data from my old Moneydance I got the box asking for my Moneydance password. But it would not accept my password, and I know this password works as it will still open my older Moneydance files. Please help me get the upgrade open and my data transferred. If you need the new key I received with the upgrade please let me know. Thank you.

The first question that I have is what version are you upgrading from?

Got it working. Did not know I had to install 2021 first since I was upgrading from 2014. Would have helped to have this instruction immediately when downloading the upgrade.Sent from my Galaxy

Hi Chris,
I'm pleased to hear that you were able to get it to work.
Generally, when one is upgrading from Moneydance 2014 and their data file is password protected, they should upgrade gradually.The reason being that the latest version cannot decrypt files encrypted using such old version.
Also, the specific steps for upgrading from Moneydance 2014 are available here.
Finally the file format FileName.moneydance can be opened using File —> Open or Open Other from the Welcome to Moneydance window when you are using Moneydance 2023.1 (5006).
