I have been using MD for a few months and have been happy. I tried opening program today and cannot open. I tried restarting, updating java, ect. and nothing. The program shows in the system tray but will not open. I am using windows 7 64 bit.

Jacob,
This is a bug, and we are working on a solution. Future versions of Moneydance should correct this bug.
Here is one successful work-around we have found:
When the program is open:
1) Maximize window 2) Click the restore down button (upper right hand corner, next to the X to close) 3) On the status bar, right-click to size, right-click to close/quit 4) Restart Moneydance
Ironically, I also experienced this issue when booting up Moneydance this morning! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

I am also running Windows 7 and have been for several months with Moneydance working without problems until 15/04/2010. I am now having the same problem. - I attempt to open the program, type in my password and the program appears on the system tray. - I hover my mouse over the icon and can see tthe small window, but it will not open to full screen. - I don't understand this 'work around' as if I cannot open the window, i cannot access any of the buttons. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Moneydance and still get the same problem.

Same problem same day and I'm using the trial, downloaded three times and have almost given up, you'll certainly have to get this fixed beore I invest in the product.

Just to let you know I am suffering the identical problem reported by Steve Cassidy. I am using Windows 7(32 bit) and MoneyDance 2010. It is very frustrating as I can not get access to any of my financial data which goes back over 20 years. I have reinstalled, made sure moneydance is cleared manually from the registry and restored windows to anearlier version before the problem arose - all to no avail.
On the face of it I have been very pleased with the program but this is a complete turn off.I only hope you come up with a solution soonest.

Did the work around described above made it possible to see the program? Here it is again for those who did not see it (I have clarified it slightly).
When the program is open:
1) Right click on the icon and maximize the window 2) Click the restore down button (upper right hand corner, next to the X to close) 3) On the status bar, right-click to size, right-click to close/quit 4) Restart Moneydance
If this work-around does not work, please do let me know, as this may be a new issue. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

I am experiencing the same thing - can't open it. The solution won't work of course, because you write: "When the program is open" as the first instruction. The program WON'T open. I am absolutely in a panic - I DO NOT have time for this kind of malfunction. PLEASE FIX IT!!!!!!

Phew! Your solution worked - I'm so sorry I "yelled" at you. I was totally freaked out. Forgive me! Thanks for the help.

I'm glad to hear that it's working well for you now. You're right that the instructions I gave are not entirely clear, I'm updating our FAQ now.
