Error Messages Not Helpful in Upgrade to 2023.2 (5059) Linux
I just upgraded to the latest stable release, 2023.2 Bld 5059, on my Linux system. Prior to the update, error messages displayed during Online updates would provide information showing the account and more specific error code information. Since the update the error messages displayed are less than helpful. Current messaging screenshot is attached as sample of the output received.

No screenshot was attached.
You may want to update to 5060, which fixes some issues with old Extensions and users with all currencies deleted.
You can find 5060 at
www.moneydance.com/preview
If it comes up, the first thing you should do is go to Extensions/Manage Extensions/Update all Extensions

Ok, that's different than what many people are encountering with the upgrade.
Thanks for the screenshot.
I will agree, not very helpful. Must be self-interpreted.
I don't think is due to the upgrade, as very little attention went to what you are experiencing. Just - you ran into this.
So - Linux, 5059
OFX, MD+, or self download/upload?
This could be simply the fi is down. i.e. try again later.
But we can pursue this with a bit more info.

I was doing the Online/Download All Accounts option from within MoneyDance
I also should mention that the errors I am getting are expected since they are Chase accounts since they banned then OFX downloads from their systems. I don't want to change over to pay another monthly fee. But, the error messages are as you see, much less descriptive in case debugging new unexpected errors occur.

Ok, you get it, absolutely.
The errors are generated by the bank. And MD displays them. So, the current lack of information is not due to the MD upgrade, they just happen to have occurred together.
Chase has "moved on", and now just says - you didn't connect, error 0.
Given you don't want to move to MD+ and the monthly fee, I suggest you download at whatever frequency you wish the QFX (which is actually OFX) format provided by Chase.
Hope that helps.

Ah ok but curious why the messages were much more complete just yesterday prior to the upgrade. Seems odd to me but if that's what it's doing. I also don't want login and password info stored in yet another place out of my control in addition to the fee.

Again, weird serendipity. The error messages are provided by the bank. You upgraded the software. To address your curiosity, things can happen at the same time.
As to MD+, I can't disagree, it's a decision based on many circumstances, privacy, login, password, trust, etc.
Which is why I suggested downloads from the website, and then upload the info.
(I have almost 12 chase cards, so I gave in to MD+)

I think Sean needs to see what information he can added to the errors from within Moneydance, I would at least hope he can provide the institution name and the Moneydance account involved in the error message.

@dwg - I'd agree with that! Even if the banks provide the info, it could be annotated.
