Money Foresight Forecasting not remembering Settings
I am on Moneydance 2023.3 (5064) and I have noticed that the Foresight Forecasting Graph which you can now add to the Summary Page no longer remembers the settings and defaults to every Bank Account for 3 months. This is really annoying as previously I would set it to the cash account for 6 months and it would always show that view the next time I opened MD. If I wanted to change it i would go into the option, change it to another account and it would be retained. Now i see an indistinguishable load of lines and i have to select the tool each time - remove all accounts - add the one i want and select 6 months ..
This definitely sounds like a bug - can someone please look at it for me or advise if there is a place to set defaults ?
Thanks

Hi Rich W,
MD 2023.3 (5064)
Windows 10
My experience is that Forecaster Summary Page widget does remember its settings when opening and closing the same data set.
However, I can confirm your experience when switching to another data set via the File > Open menu and then switching back to the original data set via the same means.
The only way that I can retain my Forecaster settings is to quit Moneydance when switching between data sets.
So, yes, a confirmed bug.
It has been reported on the Moneydance Github site by me and another user.

Thanks Kevin. That is exactly the scenario I am experiencing and thanks for the workaround tip. Is there anything I need to do to add my voice to the GitHub issue to raise its profile/importance ?

Hi Rich,
The Github post #117 has garnered the attention of the developer of Moneydance - Sean Reilly.
So, if you want to leave a comment on that thread confirming the bug, it should help to keep the issue active.
Provide your OS and MD version in your post.

FYI. I nudged the developer and he thinks he’s (just) now fixed it for the next preview release

I’ve noticed that when you log in and the summary screen appears, with all the accounts in MForesight. If you select one account and then go back to the summary page, it has reverted back to the original and “correct” setting again which it retains.

Just confirming forum member Rich W's findings.
Simply moving to and from an account, Reminders, Graphs & Reports, anything that refreshes the Summary Page seems to restore the settings in the Forecaster widget.
