Currency on Reports

I have four AustralianDollar Accounts and one British Pound account. I found that reports use the currency of the category so the GBP account reported in Australian dollars (also the default currency), The internet revealed that the report used the currency defined on the categoryso I spent a long time setting up a set of categories for GBP. Now I find that reports on only the GBP account report the transactions using GBP but the totals for each category are in Australian dollars. Is there a way to make the reports total properly in the currency of the account being reported on? Or, since Moneydance seems incapable of totalling in anything other than the default currency, is the only way to have Moneydance report different currencies properly to set up separate files for accounts in different currencies?

I also have this problem - is there any solution?
My base currency is set to AUD, but I want to do a report on some GBP accounts in GBP. I've tried changing the base currency (temporarily) to GBP and restarting MoneyDance, but this doesn't work.

Reports tend to obey the currency of the specific account/category. When multiple things are selected to total that mix currencies, then they tend to report as per above, and then grand total in the base currency.

If your reports are fairly constant you could set up some custom rows in the custom balances extension, and choose the displayed currency.

Thank you Stuart, but the issue is totals on the reports. The particular one I am interested in is the Transaction Filter. Every single category on the report is £ but the totals are in AU$. I want totals in £. The extension looks useful but I don't want a balance in the summary for every category group - I just want totals on the reports in the currency of the categories on the report when they are all the same currency.

👍 I would expect the transaction filter, when grouping (which creates a running total), to report the running total(s) in the base currency...

I have the same kind of issue. I live in NL so my base currency is € but I have income from a couple of Canadian monthly income sources. I entered them into Moneydance as CAD deposits to my Euro bank account. But now at tax time I need to produce a report of my Euro income, and the reports show CAD amounts rather than the Euro amount deposited.

The information in in Moneydance, but I can't get Moneydance to display it in the report, which means I have to do each line-item by hand. Very frustrating.
