Recent disappearance of some portfolio Stocks & Prices from main Summary Page
I have been using Moneydance for four years and my various stocks + latest prices are normally displayed on the Summary page but, very recently, I noticed that one investment (JLEN), then another (TRIG) had disappeared from the list of stocks normally displayed on the summary page ~ without any interaction by me!
I should emphasise that: ~
1. These 2 investments have been held for a few years and the current details + prices continue to be displayed within the relevant ISAs
2. These two investments continue to be listed within “Quote Loader” and update as requested.
3. Within the “Edit Security” page for each of these, the “Show on summary page” remains ticked
I am operating what I believe is the latest version of Moneydance ~2023.3 (5064) and am puzzled by this recent anomaly.
I have tried unticking the “show on summary page” saving; reopening the application, then re-ticking the relevant both but with no success. Unfortunately, by the time I had noticed the above “glitch” it had been incorporated within my separately my saved copy!
Is this something which anyone else has recently noticed and is there a solution?

Hi Clive,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your query.
You can achieve this from the 'Moneydance menu bar > Tools > Securities'.
Double-click the security in question.
In the resulting window, click the 'Edit' button in the upper, right-hand corner.
Here you should tick the 'Show on Summary Page' checkbox, click 'OK' and restart Moneydance for the changes to be implemented.
Also, to add an item to the side bar, you can click the + icon at the bottom left of the side bar, as outlined here.

Hi Maddy,
Thanks for your response to my query of 25/2/24.
The “Show on summary page” boxes for both securities are already ticked, and have been since their purchase.
As mentioned in the penultimate paragraph of my query, I even tried unticking the boxes, saving the changes then reopening Moneydance to re-tick the relevant boxes and save, but without success!!
However, yesterday when reopening Moneydance to update prices via “Quote Loader” ~ and without any intervention by me ~ the name and latest price for JLEN appeared under STOCK PRICES on the summary page!
Although the relevant data and prices for TRIG are displayed within the accounts and whilst the price can be regularly updated via “Quote Loader”, the name and price disappeared from the Summary Page a few weeks ago without any deletion of the “Show on summary page” tick!!
If there is no obvious solution then its not “the end of the world” as long as this holding continues to accurately appear within the relevant ISA account
I have noted a further anomaly in the appearance of the Summary Page since the latest Moneydance update. For the last four years that page has been set up by me to display: ~ Foresight Forecast; Reminders; Stock Prices; Bank balances. (left to right; upper/lower)
For a couple of years, I have monitored some holdings of my daughter via File/ Open / L’s ISA. I then return to my account via File/ Open/ My ISA ~but the opening Summary page has recently become distorted by Bank details being displayed twice! (upper right & lower left) To restore the summary page to normal I simply open one of the side bar headings then return to the Summary page, which displays as intended!
However, this anomaly ~ though easily rectified by me as above ~ has only appeared very recently and may disappear upon a subsequent update

Would you be able to send us a copy of your Moneydance error logs? The logs should include information on what might be causing an issue.
They are saved on your computer as an errlog.txt file. You need to navigate to:
Local Disk(C:)>Users>Your Name>.moneydance>errlog.txt
Finally you can copy the full content into your next reply here.

As someone once said :~ "I DON'T BELIEVE IT !!"
------- Apologies Maddie, but after reopening Moneydance and downloading today's prices -- The name of TRIG and latest price re-appeared on the Summary Page for the first time in weeks--- without any changes to Summary page view Editing box.
I will however try to follow your suggestions in order to identify any issue.

Hi Maddy,
As suggested by you, I am attaching a copy of my Moneydance error log ~ in case there are any "gremlins" within, which are causing the intermittent problems identified by me over the past few days.
In the meantime, thanks again for looking at the issue.

Thank you for the additional information, Clive!
The version of the Quote Loader that you are running is outdated. So, you should navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and update this (and any other extension in use) to the current version. The latest Quote Loader is v.3204.
Finally, you should restart Moneydance for the changes to be retained.

Hi Maddy,
As suggested by you I have updated the two extensions used by me ~ “Quote Loader” and “Extract Data”
I explained yesterday that the problem over missing Stock prices on the Summary page had disappeared and, is therefore no longer an issue.
However, when (after checking my daughters account) I reopen my account via File/Open/My ISA then the opening Summary page continues to display ------ on the left upper panel between FORESIGHT FORECAST and STOCK PRICES------a list of every bank account held since I first installed Moneydance, with coloured lines alongside!
Having opened File/Preferences/ Summary page I can see nothing to explain the malfunction
As I can reinstate the correct Summary page by clicking on any side bar entry, then returning to Summary page it’s not a huge inconvenience ---- just puzzling as this peculiarity has only emerged over the past month or so
Unless you have any suggestions then I’ll leave the issue there
