Split categories in payments
The 'split' alternative does not appear to allow for editing

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

Are you concerned about an investment account or a bank/credit card account?
I don't think investment accounts allow splits.
For bank/credit cards, go to the transaction, select it, then click where it says "x - splits", then click on Split... - this should allow you edit the split, add more, or delete one.
