Quotes and Currency rates are not downloading after upgrade to 2024
Just upgraded to 2024 edition. Quotes and exchange rates are not downloading anymore. I have European Central Bank as a source of rates and Yahoo Finance as a source of quotes.

Yahoo have changed their page format. It is not a simple fix.
You can try the Quote Loader extension using FT as the source.

FT has Exchange rates

Hi muddlin
Yahoo has changed something.
As dwg suggest try Quote Loader with the source FT.
For information on the features of this extension and how to use see post 67 at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/7595-quo...
Download the PDF’s attached to post 67 and have a read.
To get an overview take a look at the YouTube videos by using the links on page 1 and 2 of the PDF.
The Quick Start Video is intended to give a quick overview so the user can see if Quite loader looks like it could work for them. The Short Video expands the user’s knowledge giving more detail. The Full Video goes even further but may be to wordy for some.
The PDF reinforces what’s leaned in the videos, provides step by step instructions, a must read and provide answers on how to handle less obvious issues some users may come across.
If any Securities return an error with FT as the source then post a screen shot of the Quote Loader windows after you click GET PRICES.
Hope this helps.

Can I just downgrade the release to 2023-3? Everything was working in it. I don't see anything important to me in 2024 release.

Hi muddlin
NO, its nothing to do with the version/build of MD you are running.
Its a change Yahoo made.

The problem is nothing to do with Moneydance or the extension in itself.
Yahoo has made changes to the pages. This will affect any version of Moneydance.

But currency rates from ECB have been working just fine. Now I can't get them.

That is the Q & ER Extension nothing to do with Quote Loader or Yahoo.
Q & ER is maintained by Moneydance themselves.

Hi muddlin
A separate problem, unrelated to Yahoo and nothing to do with the version/build of MD you are running.
But Quote Loader can provide Exchange Rates from FT as suggested in previous posts.

Hi Alex
Sorry there no way to update crypto using Quote Loader until Mike can sort out Yahoo.
You can update manually. The only other way I know of, which I have not tried, is to set up a Yahoo portfolio. Download a CSV file and use Mikes Security Price Loader extension only available on his site to import the CSV file into MD. Probably better to add manually for the time being.
Have Fun, Stay Safe.

Hi MD team and fellow users.
Im using MD since two months and updating stocks prices from Yahoo for Pakistan stock exchange. The stock price update now is not working since a week via Q & ER as well as via quote loader from yahoo. Unfortunately, pakistan stock exchange is not available via FT. Is there any fix to get quote download from yahoo again. I am upgraded to MD 2024 (5117) on Mac.
Thanks

Hi Shahid
Can you post a screen shot of the Quote Loader window after you click GET PRICES so I can confirm your finding that securities on the Pakistan stock exchange that are supported by Yahoo are not supported by FT.
Mike the Developer is working on a fix for Yahoo, but if possible may take some weeks.

Hi derekkent23,
Thanks for your quick response. i am attaching the screen shot below. I tried different combination of symbols but did not return any price except gold (with symbol GC.1:CMX). I've also checked at "https://markets.ft.com/data" it seems they are not covering these stocks.

My advice to anyone is to always have an alternate solution to loading prices in place. Yahoo and FT can change their sites at any time and prevent the automated download of prices, they seem to do this on a semi regular basis.
In most cases the solution will include Mike's Security price load extension, the source of the data could be a Yahoo portfolio. In my case I have setup a Watchlist in my brokerage account I can download and use Mike's utility to load. Many of us investigated alternatives to automated downloads when Yahoo first changed their downloads i.e disabled them, many years ago.
Once you have the basics of a solution in place it is pretty quick to move to it if you have to.

Hi Shahid
I have tried a number of the ticker in the Yahoo web site itself and so far Yahoo does not seem to support them. Can you confirm that Yahoo’s web site does support them, say with a screen shot of one of them returning a price on the Yahoo web site?
18 Posted by Shahid on 19 Apr, 2024 09:31 AM
Hi derekken23,
The ticker did not return with usual companies search in yahoo. I used to find out via weblink. "https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/EFERT.KA/" for Engro fertilizer. I shall just change with last part with new company ticker to access from web. See attached my setup in Q & ER I was using since last week. Moreover, Pakistan stocks are only available via few sources like investing.com, http://EODhd.com, tradingview.com.
Thanks

Hi Shahid
Sorry, as far as I can see you are correct, FT does not support your securities.
