Your newest update (2024) broke my installation and will not allow me to input registration info.
i paid for an upgrade last year.
Your web site says I get this update.
I installed the update, but it now says "unregistered", and the new update breaks the registration interface (see attachment).
I really don't have time for this. I need my bookkeeping to work, and I'm seriously unhappy about being jammed-up by this.

Excuse me for attaching the wrong screenshot.
Your interface doesn't show the image, so I'm shooting in the dark of my screenshot directory. Let's try again.

Your interface won't let me see the image I'm trying to attach. So, we're fishing around in my screenshots folder for the right one. This is just more frustration. After using your software for many years, we are on the edge of dumping it over this nonsense.

As you can see from this screenshot, the field for registration information is zero-length.
I AM BEHIND DOING MY TAXES AND UNABLE TO PROCEED BECAUSE YOUR SOFTWARE SAYS MY VERSION IS UNREGISTERED EVEN THOUGH I'VE PAID FOR THIS VERSION.
I AM SERIOUSLY ANGRY AT THIS. PLEASE RESPOND.

Firstly ensure that you have installed build 5117.
I tried this on both Windows and Linux and it cam up correctly and I was able to register the software, so advising what O/S and version could be informative.

Also, just because it is unregistered doesn't mean you can't work.
You would still have the 100 manual transactions limitation, but my impression is that in doing taxes, you are generating reports and information.
You could also back up to 5064 using the previous version pages area

Since you say you are "seriously angry", you need to breathe and realize there are multiple alternatives to allow you to proceed.
There have been registration issues, and MD thinks they are fixed in 5117. If you know otherwise, MD definitely wants to know

I installed the version that I downloaded just a few hours ago. The .deb file has no notation in the name to indicate the specific build. I am attaching the exact file to this reply in case that will help you know which version it is.
I no longer have it installed because I NEED ACCESS TO MY BOOKS, and had to reinstall the earlier version that would accept the registration key so I can actually work.
The OS is Ubuntu 22.04, on which I've been running other versions of MD on for years without issue (except for the last major upgrade, which broke my check formatting).
It's wonderful for you that your software will work on your computers. Sadly, it isn't working on mine.
I PROVIDED A SCREEN SHOT **PROVING** that your software is offering a zero-length dialogue box for the registration key. I'm actually an experienced coder, and relatively confident that neither my OS, nor any other part of anything of mine is causing YOUR software to offer a zero-length dialogue box.
Please provide a working .deb ?

First, you are correct that the zero-length dialogue box is a bug in the 2024 initial release.
Version 5117 was supposed to fix this bug, and with Moneydance/About Moneydance you could have seen which release you downloaded, but it appears you've gone back to 5064, which is a plausible move to keep working (as I mentioned)
Given your strong need to access your books at this critical time for you, you probably should not have upgraded immediately, but I can understand you thought this process would be without incident.
Again, the incident is not as severe as you seem to believe it is, as you could have continued work with no problem. The product is fully functional, with the 100 manual transaction limit; you probably could have continued working with no problems.
Still, your frustration is understandable and we volunteers (neither respondent is part of IK/MD) are trying to help. So as an independent person trying to help, I will say your anger is a bit untoward, stated even before a response was made. Which is why I made the "breathe" comment - this is not as bad a deal as you type it out to be.
Get your taxes done. That may be part of the stress.

I should have realized by the fact you're replying to me at 9:45 PST that you were not actual staff. Apologies for letting my stress leak into my tone.
I'll just use the version I have until I hear that the bug has been fixed.
If there is a fix, it's not the file that's presently available for download. And, maybe they want to know that.
Lovely of you to help me, especially late at night like this.
Thank you.
I hope you have a great week.

You too. Thank you for your response.
Also, IK/MD is a UK company so very early for them... dark night am....
Given this is a brand new release, there are at least 3-4 items that need fixing - I thought 5118 would be out by now, but again everyone needs to sleep.
As you state, if 5117 is indeed not allowing licensing, it needs to be looked at, and it will be, but as best known 5117 works on your particular issue.
Good luck on getting those taxes done. and good night.

Given the Linux system I tried this on is running Linux Mint I used the DEB kit I cannot agree with it being a general problem with that kit, rather something is causing a specific problem on your system.
Come back when you are finished your taxes and we can look at the issue further and potential ways of working around it if we need to.
As someone who has had jobs being a System Manager and LAN administrator one of the basic rules is freeze the system state before critical times, do not do any upgrades.

Ah, I was about to say that on Linux it's fine for me... But then I resized the popup window and the field collapsed... So, try this.... Grab the bottom right and drag the window larger?

Great pickup Stuart.
I just tried that on my system, and it was only a very slight change that caused the field to collapse.

... FYI - a fix is coming....
