Security Detail is Wrong

I've seen several posts similar to this. On my security detail the Shares amount is correct but the Price is the last listed amount of Shares purchased. For example, the last TXN was a purchase of 6.667 shares at $15 for $100. The security details so that the value of the share is now $6.667 and not $15. History is correct, the register is correct, just the security detail is wrong. Using MD Version 2012.5 (862).

    Hi Snowman,

Something that comes to mind is that when the security was created, it was done so with a 'Price' of 1. (the default) The price will remain at 1 until the 'Current Price' field is updated. Thus a purchase of 6.667 shares results in a value of $6.667.

There are a couple of options:
    1) If the security can be updated using the Quotes and Exchange Rates updater, install the Q&ER updater and do so. This is the easiest option going forward.
    2) Manually update the 'Current Price' field.
For the security in question > Securities Detail view > History > Edit the "Current Price' field > Click 'New'.
    3) Install the 'Security Price Entry' extension. Doing so will make manual price updates easier.

That was it. When the Security was first entered the 'Price' was 1. Change that and the value is accurately reflected.

    Thanks Kevin, Moneydance genius.

    Hi SnowMan,

    You're welcome.

    "Moneydance genius" Thank you.

Now can you please convince my wife that I'm a genius. She doesn't see it. :)
