Investment Performance report issue

When I try to run the Investment Performance report for any period greater than one month the report doesn't generate and eventually I get the Mac spinning beach ball and the Activity Monitor shows Moneydance not responding and I have to force quit the app. I'm using MD version 2024.1 (5118).

   Presumably you have some securities (like) Apple with stock splits, where the buys and sells cross the split date? This might be a bug related to this scenario which causes an endless loop calculating the cost basis. The fix has been proposed and is awaiting IK.

   To prove. Restart. Click on each investment account, switch to portfolio screen. One by one. Does it hang on one of them?

   Yes that recreated the issue. It hung on Apple.

   Yup - you need MD2024.2(511?) which has not yet made it to alpha... So you will need to wait for the fix...

   FYI - there is now an Alpha available (that fixes this endless loop issue with Apple / split stocks). WARNING. This is an Alpha - so pre-preview… BACKUP first and only use on test data.. If you don't want to test, then wait for the stable code version.....

   As Stuart said only use it with test data.

   Those of us that test the Alpha releases do it using virtual machines or even separate machines

   I tested out the Alpha version and the hang issue is gone. I was able to run an Investment Performance report, look at the Portfolio View tab and the Securities Detail tab for Apple and the application did not hang.
