Hi MD Support,

In the Moneydance KB article 'Transaction Reminders' under the sub-heading 'Create Transaction Reminder', you should include the option where the user can Right-click (CTRL-click for Mac) and chose from the resulting context menu 'Create Reminder from Transaction'.

Thanks Kevin, I've added that now.

As you've likely seen, we're in the process of updating the knowledge base.
Hopefully there won't be many more omissions, but please let me know if you notice anything else that's missing, or if you have any suggestions.

    Thanks again, it's greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jenny,

    You're very welcome.

I'll keep anything else that you may find useful here on this thread.

First off, kudos to you guys for devoting attention to the knowledge base.

Something that you may want to point out on the topic of the 'Search Box' is that searching from the Summary Page searches across all accounts whereas searching from within an account restricts the results to that particular account.

    The Syncing article says:

"You must choose Dropbox Connection if you purchased Moneydance from the App Store."

I suspect it should say "Dropbox Connection or iCloud" but without a mac I cannot verify this.

    Hi MD Support,

Paid-for licensed users every now and then still encounter the dreaded "Your version of Moneydance has reached the 100-transaction limit" (paraphrasing)

Although forum members as well as MD support staff have provided detailed instructions on the forums on how to rename / re-create the requisite config.dict file, there should be an official KB article for users to reference.

    Hi Kevin,

1 - To remove the trial limitations, one should simply enter the license key they purchased for registering the version of the software they are running.
So, a good starting point would be navigating to Help->About to verify which version they are running, then move to Help --> Register Moneydance to enter their license key.

In other words, re-naming the config.dict is not related to point 1.

In fact this procedure should only ever be run with guidance, as it removes the license key (if the software is already registered) and it resets the Moneydance preferences.

That being said, I appreciate your suggestion and I can certainly share it with other team members.

Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

    Hi Maddy,

    Thank you for your reply.

The issue that I am referring to is 'not' that of a user entering their license key to avoid the "...100-transaction limit." prompt.

I was referring to those users who have purchased a license key, entered it, used Moneydance for a time, but whose config.dict file has apparently corrupted and thus they unexpectedly receive the "...100-transaction limit." prompt.

This issue does have a history in the forums.

Maybe it's outside the scope of a KB article but I think it could prove helpful.

    Thank you for your query.

To clarify, the software became unregistered in this case because the customer upgraded beyond their free allowance. In other words, their license key was purchased for use with Moneydance 2022 and it's also valid for registering Moneydance 2023 as per our Upgrading policy but they installed an upgrade.

This is the equivalent of installing Moneydance 2024 on a trial basis, hence not relevant to the renaming the config.dict. It simply requires a license key that is valid for the version of Moneydance they have installed/upgrade to.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
