Please add de-dupe option to qif import
I have the misfortune of having a bank account that does qif but not ofx/qfx exports. This unfortunately leads to duplicate transactions whenever I do an import. I realize the reason this happens is because qif files don't include a transaction id. However, it would be possible to de-dupe transactions based on information that is available, e.g. timestamp, amount, description. While this method isn't fool proof (if there were multiple transactions at the same place on the same day for the same amount), it would be accurate nearly all the time. I would be very much appreciative if there would be a checkbox to enable this type of deduplication during qif import.
Thank you.

Many banks in their in their routines that generate files to download provide the ability to limit the date range of transactions that are to be included in the file. Does your bank not provide this?
You may also wish to read the knowledge base paper on confirming & merging transactions.

The date range can be limited rather coarsely, e.g. 30 days, 60 days. No matter the option, there will be lots of duplicates.

I tried checking “Automatically Merge Downloaded Transactions”, but transactions are still duplicated on import.
