I see through existing posts that improvements to the Portfolio View are forthcoming in the new build of MD.

Two that I would like to see are the addition of a column for "Today's Change", which would display the total change in value of each security for that day along with a grand total at the bottom and "Change" which would display the price change for each security from the prior days closing price.

I'm a newbie transplant from the soon to be defunct MS Money. I found the two previously mentioned portfolio columns very useful in Money.

Many thanks to the MD team for making a great product. I'm looking forward to the new build.

    Hi Kevin

I just checked if this data is available from the quotes service we use from finance.yahoo.com. and it seems that they do provide the data. I sent them a quote request string for GOOG and they sent back

    "GOOG",418.53,"6/17/2009","1:33pm",+2.53,415.82,419.40,411.56,2135139

Where the +2.53 is the days change

It seems to me that it wouldn't be very hard at all to intigrate this info into Moneydance.

I have created a track ticket based on your suggestion. Here is the link:

    http://moneydance.com/trac/ticket/1925

If you register you can vote to have this feature implemented.

    Thanks for the suggestion

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer

Thanks Ben. Like I said I'm real new to MD. How do I vote on the ticket? I tried to register at the link you gave me but I kept getting an error that it couldn't find the register.html template. -Kevin

    Hi Kevin

I am afraid that the trac registration system was temporally broken. It is now fixed. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Once you have registered and loged in follow the ticket link posted above to the appropriate ticket. Click the up arrow to the right of the ticket name to vote for it and then click the submit changes button at the bottom of the ticket page.

    Sincerely

    Ben Spencer
