Projected balances

Been using Moneydance for over 2 months now and it is a great replacement for Quicken. One suggestion that I really do miss from Quicken is the ability to display a graph showing projected account balances for selected accounts for the next year. In Quicken, I had this graph on my home page and at a glance I could see if my projected balances based upon scheduled deposits and scheduled debits where trending upward or if I was over committed. Any chance we could get this report in Moneydance?

    Hi Timothy,

Take a look at the Money Foresight extension.

It provides both a graphical display as well as a table display of future balances based on Reminders. The graphical display can be displayed on the Summary Page.

From the Moneydance menu bar, go to Extensions > Manage Extensions > Money Foresight.

The trial version can forecast out to 1 month. The paid-for version unlocks that limit.

Awesome! Just what I wanted! I can get it to display the chart on the summary page but no data....any idea how I get data? The tools icon opens a dialog, but there are no accounts available to select...

Never mind. Closed and re-opened Moneydance and now it is populated. Thanks again for the suggestion. Exactly what I needed.

    Hi Tim,

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear that you were able to get things sorted.

The graph on the Summary Page has become a mainstay for me in Moneydance.

A neat feature of the graphical display is the user-defined markers. I have one set at $1500 to indicate the minimum required balance in my checking account.
