filter by "NO" Tag

i use the tags to filter results but would like the ability to filter by transactions with no tag. e.g. i have expenses for client Wendy but want a expense report that summarizes all expenses NOT wendy. i know i could assign a tag to all unassigned tags but that is extra work.

   Hi Matthew,

   Try this...

   Use the Find & Replace extension.
   Checkmark the check box for Tags.
   Click the 'None' button for Tags.
   Set the 'Exact' option for Tags.

   i do this find and replace once every year and forget the exact steps immediately, so your quick reply sped up my 2017 experimentation. the guy who wrote the find and replace extension did a very nice job but i’d still like to not have to do this workaround.

   What I wonder is why when setting the Tags options as described for the F&R extension it works for the F&R extension but doesn't work in MD's Transaction Filter report or in Advanced Search.

   you are right, i think it could be a simple programming fix that if there is nothing in the tag box (in the Reports Dialogue Box), then it searches for nothing in the tag field.

   I have reported this too in the Transaction Filter Report.. a report with just uncleared selected shows cleared items too, along with dates in an account not being sorted properly
