Automatic Transaction Matching / Merging
If you have two transactions that apply under the matching logic, then they should be automatically "semi-merged" into one transaction but showing the two options and the ability to split the posting up if desired (and the matching logic wasn't correct)
I think it's easier to split out different values than it is to have to merge. Why? because the balance of the account looks wrong at the start with all the duplicates in it (especially if you have cross account postings) and you have to trawl through all the different transactions.
At the very least, if they have the same description, amount and date then they really should be auto-matched (to then be split).
This also would be very helpful for new migrating customers because I am currently having to go through and delete all the duplicates to get my balances to match. 100s of transactions to merge/delete rather than accepting the final ones as they are.
I've read the part on merging if you download, but this is also prevalent to:
* merging via qif upload
* merging via transaction update (e.g. payment out of current account to credit card amended from a flat transaction to an intra-account posting).

See example of careful selecting and deleting of duplicates and why auto-semi-merging would have helped.
