Tracking dates
I find moneydance is great to even keep a journal of key dates without a financial implication - for example the date a lease was commenced, or a loan was reprised etc. However because of the ‘double entry’ nature of the software, it becomes rather painful to enter. Is there a way to just keep a date journal within each account - just a memo entry ? I realise I can always do it with a 0 amount but it takes longer to enter and also is tougher to retrieve as doesn’t give you a different report.
Thanks a lot

One thing you can do is to set a general transaction reminder and never record it. It will sit under your overdue reminders on the summary page.
If you want to get rid of it just click on the reminder and click the acknowledge button and it will be removed from the list.

I'm a fellow user.
I cannot think of a way in Moneydance of entering simple memos.
However I think you can use what Moneydance does provide to give you a usable outcome.
If you were to create a category say call "memos", you could even create sub-categories underneath memos to group like memos if you like and assign these at appropriate
You can then use the Income and Expenditure Detailed report to get the data, it would be functional report at least, even if not pretty.
I would even create a custom Entry in the Cheque # field say called "Mem" I think over time Moneydance would learn memo type entries and populate some data for you.

Try putting Lease Terms, etc. in Memo for each payment, i.e. Lease Expires Jan 31, 2019 60-day notice; Security Deposit $800; more? ..... Then each lease payment has terms in memo of payments.
