Money Market / Cash
If I open the Portfolio View of an Investment Account, then
click on Security Detail, then click on Edit Security. In the Type:
drop down list of the resulting Account Info: form. Can a catagory
be added for Money Market or Cash?
Thanks,
-Kevin

Hi Kevin
We already plan to allow for adding securities of type "other" to the next mjor release, which people could use to manually track the value of anything e,g, gold bullion or real estate. You could include your Money market account or cash under this category.
I tend to think of a Money Market account as a checking account that pays interest. Would it not be more appropriate to use a Moneydance bank account or asset account instead of an investment account security to track such assets?
Sincerely
Ben Spencer

Thanks Ben,
I'm glad the hear that there are plans afoot to add an additional security type category.
In THIS instance "Money Market" means the associated cash to fund the brokerage account. I should've been more clear.

I have my money market funds in my brokerage accounts set up as type "mutual fund" and it works fine. I can't think of when I use those labels for anything anyway.
