Does Moneydance support a Posting Date field for transactions? This would typically be fetched from downloaded transactions but should be manually editable as well. It would indicate the date that a transaction posted at the financial institution. It would often differ from the Date and the Tax Date.

    Hi moneydance,

From the Moneydance menu bar, go to File > Preference > Network tab

Check-mark the option 'Use Bank Dates for Merged Transactions'.

No, I want the Date to be the date I wrote the check.  I want the
Posting Date to be the date the check was posted at my bank.

Similarly, for credit card transactions, the Date should be the date I
charged the item.  The Posting Date should be the date the charge was
    posted at my bank.

Three dates are really needed: Date (Transaction date). Posting Date,
    and Tax Date.

    Hi Rick / moneydance,

OK, well now you are changing the question in your OP from - does MD support a posting date - to - does MD support 3 different dates.

TBH, I haven't seen a huge calling for this provision on these forums. Thus it likely will not garner much attention from the developers.

I think that you would be best served by using the Date field for the date that you wrote the check or charged the item and make a notation in the Memo field as to the posting date.
