Advanced option - regex editing for auto-categorization rules
Hi,
A nice feature to help optimize the auto-categorization of transactions would be if we could setup a regular expression for categorization, and also choose which fields to include in the matching process (i.e. Name, memo, tags). Then each user could customize the rules to bypass issues with the way their bank submits transactions or just some atypical transactions that they might have.
So, the rules created by the app would be accessible in some special interface showing the rule (regex and fields) and the category, and the user could alter both.

Will MD ever support rules for auto categorization, auto tagging, auto renaming and etc?
This is a must feature that almost any money management software offers, that is really dealbreaker and the main supreme purpose for using an management software.
Hope to see it in MD soon.

Hi,
Thank you for both of your suggestions for improving Moneydance! I've filed a ticket in our ticketing system and added notes based on your comments, so the developers will be looking into it.
