<p>Thank you for contacting us.<br>
There is an option with preferences to assign a separate location for you backup files.<br>
This then allows you to choose any easily accessible location.<br>
To enable this open Moneydance and go to Preferences, under the backups tab you will see the option 'Separate Backup Location'</p>
<p>There's an existing ticket in our ticketing system with the suggestion to choose what the default location is for the Documents and Archive folder, so I've attached it to this discussion.</p>

<p>In Moneydnce 2017 there is no difference. I think the use of the archive name is a bit of a leftover from earlier releases</p></div>dwg
