New Transaction Button
I believe this is a waste of time. The default landing for an account should be today's date for entry into that account. It seems like an easy request to make life easier for all users.

When you first select make new transaction it defaults to the current date. You can set in preferences whether to auto create the next transaction or not. The next transaction defaults to the date of the previous transaction.
This is done so if you are manually entering a series of transactions, say from a statement, keeping the dating is simplified.

Okay Tom,
I go to file/preferences and check the box auto-create new transactions
and I still have to click on the button to get a new transaction. Or do
cntl/n

For the first transaction. You can either cntl -n or click the new transaction button.

Exactly Tom! Why should I have to do either one??? Just make it default
to a new transaction with the days date.
