I have needed to sort my investment transactions by Tax Date. While doing my taxes my investment firm reported the wrong purchase date for a small lot of stock that I sold and wanted to find the correct lot.
This is for a stock I have owned for over 20 years and have done dividend reinvestment every quarter. I have also moved this stock to a couple of different investment firms over the years. So now I have over 100 investment transactions that I have the date of the move to the current investment firm in the date field and the original purchase date in the Tax Date field.
I converted from Quicken back in July using a QIF import and the Tax Dates did NOT import in tax date order. So now I have transactions that are in a scrambled order relative to Tax Date.
