Stock / Fund Online Updates
Using the Trail version as of middle part of Feb 19. LIke the tool. But, the online stock / fund quote feature is becoming a show stopper. Comparing MD to Banktivity and like the feel / interaction better with MD. But stock / fund price needs to be really addressed.
I found the feature to import a security prices -- but not going to do that one at a time. LIKE/NEED to have the following
A import feature where MD will take a csv file with security symb, price, date and upload/update the securities in the system -- one single batch update. I can easily fill in the information in the CSV file. If this feature already exists in the MD software please let me know. Otherwise, can this feature be done in a few weeks -- I don't seeing this feature that hard to do.

I'm a fellow user.
Mike Bray, another Moneydance user, has created an extension to load historical prices from a CSV file see:

Hi Steve
The link dwg provided also covers the MB Extension Installer (extinstaller.mxt).
This installer lists all of Mikes extensions and provides a direct install and update method.
It lists the Security History Loader to import CSV files and you will also find the Quote Loader. The Quote Loader obtains and enters security prices directly into each security history window bypassing the need for a CSV file..
See post 114 at http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/investments/4039-quote-loa...
Take a look at the PDF attached to post 114. The PDF also contains a link to a YouTube video that gives you an overview of the Quote Loader as well as showing you how to install the MB Extension Installer.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply -- will check this feature tomorrow.
I am new to MD -- when I imported all of my portfolios (qif files) I ended up having at times the same security/fund listed in the MD security list. Is there any easy way to merge / consolidate down to just one entry per security? When I tried to delete a duplicated security -- system did the right thing by warning me that transactions are associated to it. Got this bad feeling I may have to reload everything. If so, is the best practice to enter in all securities at one time? Hopefully when/if i reload the 'qif' files the import will not create duplicate securities.
Thanks

You could try this.
Under TOOLS – SECURITIES double click on a duplicate security, then EDIT and change the name of the security. You then need to work through all your investment accounts looking for this changed name in the INVESTMENT – REGISTER and changing the name in the security field to the correct name. Once you have corrected all the security transaction in the Security Detail Window of each investment account click on REMOVE SECURITY and remove the renamed security. Once you have done this to all investment accounts the renamed security under TOOLS – SECURITIES should have been automatically deleted.
Hope this helps.

I'm a fellow user.
I'm sorry but as Derek as indicted there is no quick way to do this.
It's very unusual to get two securities created with exactly the same name from an import, I've not seen this happen before.
