Saving entries and changes
I've gone through many discussions on saving changes and the answer is always that Moneydance automatically saves changes upon entry. That's just not true. It does save entries, but changes to uncleared entries in the account are not always saved. Deletions are not always saved.
If the reason for removing the Save function(s) from the File menu is to standardize mobile apps with the desktop program my suggestion is to find someone who can develop a true solution rather than do away with this function, as it's pretty much a standard in most users general overall experience. Doing it the way you have so shows a bias against users (the Microsoft Method of Enterprise) rather than a serviceable solution.

I am not support staff, just a user.
I have used 2015, 2017 and now 2019 on windows 7 and 10 and have not experience any issues with data not being saved.
I could help support or others to help you if you posted your version and build of Moneydance e.g. 2019.4(1888) and your computer operating system.
Also, the exact series of key press you perform and then find data is not being saved.
You can force a Save at any time with the key command Ctrl (⌘ on Mac) - S
Status line at bottom of window should read “Finished Saving Data”.
Hope this helps.

I'm using Windows 10 Professional with the August 2019 1903 update
installed.
Moneydance 2019 3 (1880)
First, I changed amounts of debits upon encountering imbalance. Finding my
entry errors, I then achieved balanced and quit Moneydance. (None of the
changed entries had been cleared.) Opening Moneydance later in the same day
gave me the same imbalance. Checking the errant entries revealed that
Moneydance did not save the changes. Do you want me to give you that again
in keystrokes, or can we assume I'm somewhat competent re: basic accounting
entry keystroke procedures?
My point is that since there is no save function I couldn't and thus didn't
save anything. If you don't believe it, I guess that's your problem, not
mine.
Also, recently I updated Moneydance from an old version. Importing from
Quicken left me with a ledger of several years of entries. I reconciled two
years' worth, highlighted them all and deleted them. I then adjusted the
balance for the missing deposits and debits, and closed the program. When I
opened Moneydance the following morning none of those changes had been
made; the two years' of entries were intact. I reconciled them again and
deleted them again. Then I quit Moneydance. When I reopened the program the
changes had been saved.
Those are only two incidences. I assure you that there are just not many
keystrokes I could have mistakenly made to incur that type of error.
Having the Save function restored would be a needed assurance.
Blaming me as an incompetent doesn't really address the issue. The Save
function is particular standard throughout machine procedure. Removing it
was wrong, regardless of the reasons.

Hi blloyd9
I wasn’t for a moment suggesting you are incompetent, strange things can happen when using software.
I was simply stating the fact that since I have been using Moneydance I have never personally uncounted the issue you described.
There a number of ways to edit a transaction, it’s possible you have hit upon a key sequence that uncovers a software bug, that was the reason for the question about key sequence.
Also, to let you know that the Save function still exist using the key strokes I outlined.
My questions were intended to try to identify the reason for the issues you encountered.
Now knowing you are using 2019.3(1880) leads to the question are you syncing to any other computers or mobile devices. Is your data set stored in the default location as to be found under HELP – SHOW DOCUMENT FOLDER. Does the errlog.txt file at C:\Users\user_name.moneydance show any unusual activity. The errlog.txt file is often worth posing.
If you don’t want help from other user simple make the thread private.
Hope this helps.

Actually if you're a user my concern has nothing to do with you at all. It
is plain in my first comment that I addressed my concern to the software's
developers.
Users quick to relate that "this has never happened to me" never add
anything to a thread.
You're wrong. It's well known there is no Save function available in
Moneydance menu.
Finally your comments are indeed insulting as they are meant to be. You
needn't, however, concern yourself. I'm not insulted in the least.
Cheers!
