I use three sub accounts under my checking account to hold money for semi-annual expenses, savings, and unexpected expenses in a month. I transfer a set amount of money from my checking account monthly into those sub accounts and I transfer money out of those sub accounts to my checking account as appropriate. These transfers among the sub accounts and my checking account are done and completed when I make them - no bank activity is involved. Therefore, I mark both sides of such transactions as cleared when they are entered.

The suggestion is that in the case of such transactions, they be automatically marked cleared when they are entered.
