Customize appearance

Hi,
I am a Moneydance user. While this is my favorite app for managing my finances, it is very hard to customize the theme. It would be very helpful to have a live preview of what is changing on the interface as I am changing it. Also, when I select Dark Mode, the option to customize it is disabled. This is kind of frustrating, as I like the Dark Mode theme, but want to change a few colors.
Please consider updating this functionality.

   Hi Timothy,

   We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

   Which version and build of Moneydance are you using?
   To check, open Moneydance and select Help --> About Moneydance (or Moneydance --> About Moneydance on a Mac) where the version and build number will be displayed.

   If you haven't already, we would recommend upgrading to the latest free preview version. Moneydance 2019.4 (1896) is available to download from this page

   For a full list of improvements in the preview version, please refer to this page.

   Build 1896:

   • fixed bug in color theme file encoding;

   • improved appearance of color theme editor, including showing more descriptive labels for each color entry;

   • includes tweaks to file selection in open/import windows.

   I'm a fellow user.

   When Moneydance 2019 was in Beta testing, Dark Mode proved to be rather problematic, to the point of being unusable much of the time - bit hard to use when you cannot read some screen elements, hence why the settings for it are forced and cannot be changed by the user.

   If you are feeling adventurous you need to start with one of the other themes and make up your own "Dark Mode".

   Tagging on, it might be good to have a few more preset themes. When customising the colours etc, I'm never sure exactly which fields I'm tinkering with - then each time I have to exit MD and go back in again, just to see what's changed, only to find it's not what I wanted. Or perhaps a preview of a standard 'view' which you could see change as you make the adjustments WITHOUT having to re-start MD?
