The ofx file extension has nothing to do with ofx.com, it relates to Open Financial Exchange, https://www.ofx.net/ Their use of the ofx extension goes back over 20 years.

By not associating the ofx extension with Moneydance really only has limited implications.

If it is associated then double clicking on a ofx file starts Moneydance and proceeds to do an import.

If it is not associated and you have a ofx file to import you need to start Moneydance and select to do an import and navigate and select the file to import, hence it makes it slightly more manual.

Associating files with Moneydance is more of a convenience thing, for example typically I do not associate CSV files with Moneydance I associate them with my spreadsheet program.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/487052292020-10-09T10:00:17Z2020-10-09T10:00:18Z.ofx file extension causing me problems

Dear dwg,
