Notes area in Reminders

I find with some of my reminders that I want to record supporting information. I have some that are subscriptions and come up every year or two and I typically record when my subscription actually runs out, details like my customer number and sometimes a web site for payment. At the moment I have to record this in the description.

It would be useful if there was a free form notes field where data like this could be recorded.

i take it the description field is not sufficient.

The problem I currently face with using the description is that under Moneydance 2021, the column widths on the summary page seem to be in part determined by the length of descriptions in reminders and thus I see the summary page disappear off my screen with the need to scroll.

Without a solution to that in the current release then a notes field can resolve this, and I think it may offer a cleaner approach in any case.

Your idea of having a note field is a good one.

I’ve often wanted to add additional information. What I do is create a General Reminder, with the same name as the Transaction Reminder except say add -2 to distinguish it. The Memo field in the General Reminder allows you to input as much info as you like.

You do get a one off entry in the Calendar, but doing this has worked for me for some time. I don’t see what other purpose the General Reminders serves.

I think dwg suggestion of a Note field in Reminders is a great idea.

If you mouse hover over an entry in the calendar a window opens, this could include the contents of the Note field for quick reference.

I agree with the addition of a notes field. I also think general reminders serve a purpose. I like to remind myself when company AGMs and final results are due - both non-transactions - and in this respect, general reminders are ideal.
