Related to this discussion - the balance column in the Bank Register of an investment account does not reflect all transactions that affect cash, creating confusion when it fails to match the balances shown in the Register. May I recommend at least one of the following:
* your documentation about the bank register should say something about this, e.g. "ignore the amounts in the balance column"; * eliminate the column altogether * fix it, e.g. by including within the bank register any transactions that impact the cash balance (perhaps non-editable, showing something like "[register transation]").
