100%, there should be an easy means to restore a skipped reminder.

Just as an FYI, the easiest way to recreate a reminder is to locate an instance of a reminder transaction in the register, right-click it (CTRL-click for Mac).
From the resulting context menu, select 'Create Reminder From Transaction'.
A reminder creation window will appear will almost all of the relevant data already applied.

You could potentially just select an existing transaction from the reminder in register and use the Duplicate option if the reminder is now due.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/490344462021-02-14T21:06:42Z2021-02-14T21:06:42ZBringing back a skipped reminder

These are great workarounds. In my testing, I skipped several upcoming transactions that I wouldn't necessarily want to enter right away and without the reminder, I might forget. Perhaps my testing is an artificial case and might not happen in the real world. Nonetheless, there are issues as I have described in my original post and it would be great to have them addressed.

CanSavertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/490344462021-02-14T21:25:39Z2021-02-14T21:25:39ZBringing back a skipped reminder

When you skip a reminder I believe the software is marking the reminder for that date as being dealt with, hence it appears greyed out in the calendar as having been processed. The reminder then just moves to the next date in the schedule.

There is no way that I know of to go back and mark the reminder for that specific date as needing to be processed in other words undoing what was done.

As you have found the only way of restoring the reminder is to create a new one that has not yet been processed.

Would it be possible to change the status of the existing reminder in some way, I do not know.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/490344462021-02-14T21:34:29Z2021-02-14T21:34:29ZBringing back a skipped reminder

Dwg. You are correct. The single reminder record just stores the last committed date. If you skip, then the last committed date is advanced. The greyed out entries do not exist. I believe they are calculated entires. It would be possible to write a very simple ‘fix’ that edits the record, but I’m not sure it’s worth it.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)
