Moneydance - data entry

Hello,

When entering a new transaction, Moneydance 'best guesses' the description based on the few characters that the user has entered. Whilst this is useful, it is not optimal where there are several descriptions that are very similar - you have to keep typing until every other option is eliminated. In the example below, the user has to type 13 characters to arrive at the correct option.

Example:
Transfer to Pat's ISA
Transfer to Dave's ISA
Transfer to Current
etc

Would it be possible to provide a dropdown that has been filtered to display the available options based on the few characters that the user has entered?

Using the example above, the user would only have to enter 'Tr' for the system to display the above 3 options. It would then be simple for the user to select (either by moving down the selection and pressing return, or clicking the required option) to make a choice.

I have used Moneydance for over 10 years and it has suited my requirements very well, however I believe this small enhancement would provide 'the icing on the cake'.

Best wishes from the UK and stay safe.

Well, on a Mac it does this already.. Start typing and then when something appears, press the down arrow key..?

(not support, just a fellow user)

    Hi Stuart,

I wasn't aware of this facility - thanks for your input.
