Would be great if you made split transactions easier. MS Money would allow you to tab through each entry and when it got to end of first entry and you hit tab one more time, it would auto create another. It would also have running total so you knew at the end of the sum of all you did added up to the original amount.

    Hello,

I've removed your license key from your post, as it's generally not a good idea to post personal information like that on a public forum.

Thanks for your suggestions. One element of this that somewhat exists has to do with the totaling issue. Create the transaction in the register, but make sure to enter in a total amount before clicking on the Split button. The first line of the split will have the total amount of the transaction. Enter in the information for this split line, and correct the amount. When you click on the button to add a new split line, the program will autofill in the total transaction amount minus the value of the above split. You can continue this process for each additional split. This should allow you to make sure you have allocated the exact amount of the total transaction, no more or less.

Yes, MS Money did the same thing. The nice part about MS Money was when I repeatedly hit tab, it would auto open a new split versus Moneydance, making me press a button.

    Warm Regards,

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

It might be useful referring you to this article of the Knowledge Base listing the most popular Keyboard Shortcuts in Moneydance.
In your case, while editing a transaction ⌘ L (Mac) ctrl L (Win and Linux) will bring up the split editor

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

I am speaking of having to hit that for each split. MS Money would allow you to tab into a new entry just by hitting tab.

    Warm Regards,

    Joe

    I'm a fellow user.

In Moneydance ⌘ N (Mac) ctrl N (Windows and Linux) will create a new line in a split transaction. TAB is used to move between fields.
